Unfiltered Story #280262

Due to the government’s cuts to autism program funding, I an autistic person, am going door to door selling crafts that I made to raise money for the Sunbeam Center, where I go for social skills group and therapy. My sister and her friend are with me, we are carrying a sign stating what we are selling and why we are raising money. We knock on a house, and a man answers the door:

Man: Hello?
Me: Hi, we are selling these crafts to-
(He reads our sign about autism, and interrupts)
Man: You know why kids get that? It’s because of the needles from the government! You need to go research this these needles that make kids sick with autism! You should be protesting the vaccinations!
Me: Actually, I am autistic and I find this very offensive. We are not “sick”, and autism is not caused by vaccines.
(He continues to yell over me about how vaccines are dangerous and cause autism. We just turn around and leave, and he coninues to shout at us until we are out of sight. I was pretty offended, and my sister and her friend are proud of me for not losing my temper with this idiot. Still, I wonder how anyone could be tht stupid…)
