Unfiltered Story #280256

My friends and I are playing a competitive card game online and we’re all using new decks, and therefore cards that are often new to us as well. An aside, I’ve studied both Spanish and Japanese for years, including both at the same time for a bit, and my friends have knowledge in both languages as well. I am also very tired when this happens, so a bit loopy.

It’s my turn and I play a card with the name “Mikokoro.” My brain immediately reads this as “mi,” Spanish for “me/my,” and “kokoro,” Japanese for “heart (simplified),” so instead of saying the card name I say:

Me: I play My Heart.

Friend #1: … You mean Mikokoro?

Friend #2: *giggling*

Me: What?

Friend #1: Did you just mash together Japanese and Spanish?

Me: *realizing what I said* Welcome to my brain 24/7!!

We alternated between the actual name and my botched translation for the rest of the game.
