Unfiltered Story #279619
The COVID19 situation has convinced me to download a popular food delivery app while I’m stuck at home and don’t want to make my own food. I use it three times in about a week.
#1: I order food from a chicken place, but the sides are incorrect. I call the store and they tell me to come through the drive-thru to fix it (plus “That’s never happened before”). I go to the store (which defeats the purpose of getting it delivered), and they can’t take the food back after it’s left the building, so I end up with free sides along with what I actually paid for. I give the two things I don’t want to my roommate.
#2: I order from a grill & bar place across town. This order is correct! Completely. And the gal who dropped it off was super sweet! She gets five stars.
#3: I order from a Chinese place. I get completely the wrong order. This time I’m not going to bother calling anyone, because most of the people at the restaurant aren’t super fluent in English so it would probably take me more time to explain my problem than it’s worth. (I’ve had that issue before with them. It gets confusing and I don’t want to spend ten minutes on the phone.) I keep what I received and file a complaint with the app. They refund me something like half of what I paid.
I haven’t used the app since. The two issues were on Tuesdays, and the good one was a Thursday or a Friday. No clue if that factors in or not. I also had two different delivery people, so I don’t know if it was the restaurant’s fault or the delivery person’s fault. I know of a few other people having issues, as well, so I’m not sure if I’m going to keep using the app or not. I’ve ordered delivery since these incidents, but those orders have through a restaurant’s actual website instead.
