I rent a basement apartment in a private residence not too far from my parents, and I visit them several times a week, mostly for dinner. I’ve just walked into their house, and waved to my Dad who’s on the phone.

He greets me before telling the person on the phone, “oh, we just got a visitor. Your tennant is here for dinner.”

Why was my Dad talking to my landlord on the phone, you ask? My landlord is my Dad’s primary doctor.
It’s a small town.
