I answer the phone and am met with an extremely grumpy voice.
Me: Hello, thank you for calling [business], this is [me], how may I direct your call?
Caller: [Name I don’t recognize].
Me: I’m sorry, there’s no one here by that name.
Caller: Yes there is.
Me: Uh —
Caller: *unintelligible*
Me: I’m sorry, can you repeat yourself?
Caller: How about [other name I don’t recognize]?
Me: I’m sorry, there’s no one by that name either; perhaps you have the wrong number?
Caller: Is this [state school]???
Me: No, this is [business]–
The caller hangs up before I can finish speaking. Sorry for wasting your time with your wrong number, lady!
