(I am shopping with my sisters when I notice that one of the employees looks very familiar. I realize that she is dating one of my friends. I’ve never met her before, but my friend frequently posts photos of her on social media. I text my friend and she confirms that yes, her girlfriend works at that store, and also tells me about a fun pick-up line her girlfriend had come up with the other day. When my sister asks the girlfriend for help with her shopping, I see my golden opportunity.)

Girlfriend: “Is there anything else I can do for you guys?”

Me: “Yeah, I was wondering if you could help me find the right pick-up line to get your number?”

Girlfriend: “OH MY GOD, I was literally just talking to someone about that pick-up line-”

Me: “I know, your girlfriend told me.”

Girlfriend: “You know my girlfriend?”

Me: “Hi, I’m [My Name].”

(We exchange pleasantries and have a good laugh while my sisters stand there awkwardly. In the car afterward:)

Sister: “I thought you were actually trying to hit on that girl and I was so embarrassed for you. That line was terrible.”

(And that’s how I accidentally came out to my little sister, and she was cool with it.)
