My younger brother (at the time a 14 year old) and I are Marine Brats and are also being raised in the Catholic faith, though I am pansexual. This story occurs when we are rehearsing for the ceremony with our confirmation class and another class from the Air Force base about an hour away. The formation became a bit hectic and the father of our church told us that he had faith in us to get organized. My brother turned to the father and told him his faith in us was misguided. My foolish sibling was lucky that he was still allowed to get confirmed after a joke like that. My mother thought as much when the father told her this story later!
