My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship and only see each other for a couple of days a month. This means we try to pack in as much as possible over one weekend, so we tend to be pretty tired at the end of it. I’m exceptionally grumpy when I’m tired.

I’ve crawled into bed and am just drifting off to sleep after watching Avengers: Endgame with him at the theatre. This included a two-hour discussion about the movie prior to the movie, him sobbing the entire way through the movie, and then a 40 minute debrief after the movie before I finally banned him from talking about it because I was getting a headache. He’s still buzzing from the movie.

Boyfriend: I love you
Me: *jerking awake* Huh?
Boyfriend: Good night
Me: Ok good night

I start to drift off to sleep again

Boyfriend: I love spending time with you
Me: *jerking awake* Huh?
Boyfriend: I miss you a lot when I’m not here, y’know?
Me: Can we talk about this in the morning?
Boyfriend: Ok

I start drifting off to sleep again

Boyfriend: Good night
Me: SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO TO SLEEP

Thankfully he has a sense of humour and is a very patient man!
