I’m using the bathroom at my University. There are two girls at the sink/counter working on costume makeup for a short film they’re recording in our school’s green screen room. The light skinned girl is painting the dark skinned girl with gray/white face paint. A boy from their class knocks on the door to ask how much longer the process will take and the girls give an estimate of time. I’m washing my hands when this interaction occurs.

Girl #1: They’re so impatient! This type of thing takes time!

Girl #2: I know right! Like how long do they think it’ll take for a dark skinned person to turn white?

Me: I mean it was pretty quick for Michael Jackson.

All three of us burst out laughing.
