This happened while I was working the first window at the restaurant I work at.

Me: Hi there sir, (confirming order and telling price $4.46.)

Customer: *Pays with $5.50*

Me: *Takes money* Would you like the change back with that?

Customer: Well duh!

(I then proceeded to close the window and finish his order and getting his 4 cents.

Me: *Opening window* Alrighty sir l, here’s your-

Customer: You know that is so rude asking me that! I can’t believe that, do they make you ask that?!

Me: I uh… well no sir I just have always done that and most people like to donate their remaining few cents.

Customer: I don’t care, I want my money, that is so rude.
