(I work for an IT company, here are some interactions I have had. User number one works in a department that tests new applications)

Me: Okay so if you hold in the power button for 15 seconds, release and reboot.

User: Power button. What’s that?

Me: The button that switches on your laptop.

(She has had the laptop for several months and uses Windows 10)

Me: So if you want to pull up Edge or Internet explorer.

User: And those are?

(So this one I can’t get over)

Me: So if you want to hit the escape key

User: I can’t find anything that says escape on my keyboard.

Me: Is your escape key missing? Do you also need a replacement keyboard? It’s a key marked with ESC.

User: Oh!
