I’m working with a loud, offensive male patient who is seeing our eye doctor and purchasing glasses. He’s a “nice” guy but keeps making loud stereotypical remarks about women trying to be funny but generally just being rude and obnoxious. I’ve dealt with it up until now. I fake laugh so he’ll shut up but tell him if he doesn’t stop I’m going to hit him upside the head with my shoe (yes, out loud). I see the female patient sitting at the desk next to us turn to face me so I look over to her. “I’ve got two more shoes if ya need em,” she says.
