Unfiltered Story #252748

, , , | Unfiltered | February 2, 2022

I volunteer with a national emergency response organization. Two days after Hurricane Robert swept through the Southeast, I was deployed to a small town in the south to work the motor transport desk. Basically, if it was on wheels (trailers, tractors, rental cars, box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks etc) it was my responsibility.

Shortly before lunch one day the refrigeration unit failed in the trailer holding the perishables for a Southern Baptist Disaster Services field kitchen that was turning out 3,000 meals a day for people displaced by the storm.

When this happens, there’s only so time before you have to start throwing away thousands of dollars worth of donated food. While I was on the phone trying to locate a technician, two Baptist ladies walked over, laid their hands on the trailer, and began to pray.

It restarted.
