Unfiltered Story #250568

I was standing in line to pay for some groceries, and there was a mom and her (10ish?) daughter in front. She was doing the thing we all have done at some time – figuring out what they need versus what they want. When she put back the animal crackers, the daughter looked upset, but with one look from the mom, she stopped further comments.

I was impressed, and asked the mom for the cookies. She looked at me with a question on her face and I smiled, and handed the cashier the price of the cookies. I got a hug from the girl, and a smile from the mom. I told her that I had been there (am there now and then), and was glad to be able to pay it forward.
