Unfiltered Story #249942

This happened something like 15 years ago, when I was trying to get a temp job after graduation. I’d submitted my info to half a dozen temp agencies and soon after went in to be interviewd. I always had my certificates and other paperwork in hard copy, CV on a thumb drive and printout, everything to make the process go quickly.

This one interviewer, though…
Interviewer: “I’d like to see your ID so I can take a copy of it and attach it to our files.”
Me: (puzzled): “OK…”
Interviewer: “And then I’ll need your CV in electronic form, not just that printed one.”
Me: “I have it on this thumbdrive, named CV_myname.pdf – here.”
Interviewer: “No, you have to email it to me.”
Me: “But it’s right here, just open it from this stick!”
Interviewer: “It needs to be emailed. When we’re done here, make sure you’ll send me an email with the CV attached, OK?”
Me: “But… oh, all right.”
