(I’m the idiot in this story. I have found that some of my cards have fraudulent charges, so I begin making calls to all of the card centers to notify them that my cards have been compromised. I start with the largest charge.)

Call center: “This is (Name), how can I help you?

Me: “I think my card was scanned. I have a fraudulent charge for $125.00 on it.

Call center: “Okay, what is the last four of your social and your last name?”

Me: *gives info* “I’m upset that I wasn’t notified at all about the charge, too. I only saw it because I looked online to confirm this card hadn’t been hit, and it had been. Not even a text.”

Call center: “Ma’am, that charge is an online payment that’s pending.”

Me: “…Oh. That’s right, I just paid that the other day. Sorry about that.”

(Aside from a laugh at my idiotic moment, he was graceful about the matter and helped me to replace my card with no other occurrences.)
