(I live in the largest city in the United States. It’s pretty common to be approached by strangers on the street for a variety of reasons, the most innocent being directions, but generally after living here four years, it’s just easier to ignore people unless they seem genuinely distressed and in need of help. This happens when I’m walking to work one morning.)
