[My elderly cat has to go in for a procedure, and I’m making sure it’s covered by our pet insurance. I’m tired, terrified that she’s not going to survive routine sedation, and worried about money. I call the pet insurance call centre and give our cat’s pet insurance details. Her name is Poppy.]
Man at call centre: OK, your policy looks good, so make sure you file the paperwork within 30 days and we should cover it all except the excess.
Me: She’s going in for the procedure tomorrow, so I’ll sort out paperwork with the vet then. Thank you so much.
Man at call centre, cheerfully: You’re welcome! And give my love to Poppy! Bye!
[It made my day. I did indeed give his love to Poppy, and she’s going in for her sedation today. Sometimes a bit of kindness on the phone makes everything better. Wish us luck!]
