Unfiltered Story #247959

(I work at a Chinese restaurant and someone ordered on the phone for pick up. They sent someone in the store to get it and pay. They told me what sauces they need and left. I get a call a little while later from the lady who ordered.)
Me: (restaurant) can I help you?
Caller: hi I ordered for pick up and I didn’t get a fork
(I knew which order it was because I recognized the order)
Me: oh I’m sorry did you want to come get one?
Caller: can you deliver it?
(I was busy answering other calls as well as handle a dine in and knew our driver, who had other deliveries, would not take someone a fork especially since they didn’t order for delivery in the first place)
Me: I’m sorry but we can’t deliver a fork
Caller: *grumbles* well what am I suppose to do, eat with my fingers?
Me: you can come get a fork.
Caller: I’ll send someone to get one.
Me: ok have a good night
(A few minutes later a man comes in, he is on the phone)
Man: hi I’m picking up a fork.
Me: oh ok
(I start to put a fork and napkins in a brown bag when the guy says this:)
Man: I don’t know why she couldn’t just use a silver fork
(I pause what I’m doing and look up)
Me: is she at home?
Man: *smiling a little* yea
(I smile at him and finish what I’m doing and hand him the bag)
Me: sorry about that, have a good night!
(If you need a fork from a place that doesn’t automatically give you one, you have to ask and I’m sure that you’ll be able to get your fork.)
