Unfiltered Story #246926
(I am a woman, working in the industrial hose department of a large health and safety company. We make bespoke hose assemblies for customers, and I find that I need to speak to our workroom manager about one of them. I find him in one of the workrooms, wrestling fittings into a very large and rigid length of polypipe, with one of his operatives nearby working on a batch of rubber hose assemblies. Whilst discussing my assembly issue, he continues trying to seat his fittings correctly so they can be pushed into the pipe, but I then notice that the end which he isn’t working on has fallen out completely. I go to point this out, but have a complete brain freeze, and can’t think what it is called.)
Me: [Manager], your thing has fallen out.
Me: (sniggers childishly)
Me: (quietly, but not quietly enough, apparently) That’s what she said…
Operative: (belly laughs to the managers oblivious bemusement)
