Unfiltered Story #246468

I’m out walking and have just turned a corner at a busy intersection with slip lanes. I hear a clatter behind me, and turn to see that an elderly man has fallen over in his mobility scooter, because the sidewalk is a bit tilted at the corner. I rush to his side, but I can’t lift him or the scooter, and I can’t understand him when he tries to speak because he seems to have no voice.

Just as I’m starting to wonder what to do, a car slams on its brakes in the slip lane, and a woman rushes out to help. Only seconds later, another car stops behind her, and a man rushes out to help. Within moments they have the elderly man and his scooter upright again, and despite his lack of voice they manage to find out where he wants to go. They get him started in the right direction, and we watch him cross the street safely before we go our separate ways. Hopefully he got to his destination without further incident.
