(I get my groceries early morning. There’s a young couple nearby. The young woman is in slacks and a sweatshirt and looking rough. She gestures to some cookies)

Young woman: (sounding British) “These are cheap?”

Young man: (sounding American) “You have to add tax too. It’s 8%”

(there is a long pause)

Young woman: “I’ve been awake for more than 24 hours and you’re expecting me to do mathematics? That is… evil.”
