While studying in China, I took some time to visit other cities. This happened in a hostel where me and a friend shared a room with a few other people.
Pakistani Guy: Hi my friend, I’m [name] and I’m from Pakistan. Where are you from, my friend?
Me: Hi, I’m [my name] and am from Mexico.
Pakistani guy: *thinking*…is that near Russia, my friend?
Me: *astonished* What? No…it’s just south of the US.
Pakistani Guy: Ohhh…
