I have short hair that I’m growing out from a pixie cut, which is at an awkward in-between length and driving me crazy. There is also a turquoise streak, which I love. A little old lady comes up to my counter as I am cashiering and says:

Lady: I really love your haircut! [leans in close and whispers] But I don’t really like the color. [straightens back up and says loudly] But I love the cut!
