My best friend and I went on vacation to Puerto Vallarta for spring break in our last year of college. We stayed at a large, well-known resort which had fully-stocked bars in some of their pools. Not BY the pool or on the deck—IN the pool. We were hanging out by one of these pool bars one crowded day, drinking margaritas and pointing out all the cute guys. Suddenly we hear someone say, “Hola señoritas” in the whitest, most American accent you could imagine. We turn, and it’s two boys, each with their own mixed drink, who couldn’t have been more than 13 years old. We wanted to ask how old they thought we were, since we’ve both been told we could pass for high schoolers, but we were laughing too hard! I don’t think they were hurt too bad by it though, since they started laughing too.
