Unfiltered Story #244246

(I deal with online sales for a brick and mortar store for my job, and although email enquiries are supposed to be dealt with by the manager, whose name is in the email signature, I sometimes grab them if they’re web-related rather than relay an answer. This email chain escalated… quickly.)

Customer: If I pick up this item from the store, would you take [3/4 of the listed price] for it?

Me: Unfortunately, we do not offer in-store pick up on web sales. We are also currently not taking offers on this item as it has only come into store recently. Sorry for the inconvenience. Kind regards, [Female name]

Customer: I spend thousands of pounds and frequently get discounts with other stores but I’ll know not to bother with your store in future. Also, who the hell are you to tell me I can’t pick up an item if I’m paying full price on it? I’m assuming this bad attitude is because it’s that time of the month.

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?
