Unfiltered Story #236934

, , | Unfiltered | June 22, 2021

I worked in a travel center which is just a fancy name for a really big gas station. I am young and by no means fat, in fact I had just lost a lot of weight recently so this caught me off guard.
A customer comes up to my counter and I go through the regular greeting and ringing him up. As he is digging through his wallet:
Customer: “So when are you due?”
*Me not catching exactly what he is trying to imply*
Me: “When am I do what?” (thinking he asked me something along the lines of a task or maybe it was a cheap way to hit on me)
Customer: “No, no, When are you due? Like you are pregnant right?”
I kind of died a little bit inside and got really defensive fast but I still cannot be rude.
Me: “Nope, I am not pregnant. I guess I am just fat, but hey, thanks for that.”
The customer looked up slowly from rifling through his wallet with a look of horror on his face, quickly paid for his stuff and left sheepishly with a quickness.
