We have a 2 for $7 special that includes 3 of our sandwiches, and only those 3. It is well marked both visually and in writing, but something like this happens frequently.

Customer: “can I get 2 [sandwiches that aren’t part of the deal]”

Me: “okay your total is [not $7 plus tax]”

Customer: “no the sign says they’re 2 for $7!”

Me: “the 2 for $7 is only on [lists sandwiches]”

Customer: “oh well those are the ones I wanted”
