We have a clothing rack with a note:

Note: “1+1 FREE WITH A WHITE TAG. (CHEAPEST IS FREE)”

It is my first day solo behind the register and I’m kinda nervous. A man approaches and I total up his clothes; €4,95 and €2,95.

Me: “Sir, if you get another piece of clothing out of that rack with the white tag you can get one free.”

Customer: “Well I got both of them out of that rack, I want that one free.”

Me: *looks for white tag*

Me: Sir, this one does not have the white tag, I am not allowed to discount even a euro of it sorry :)

Customer: (i can see hem get annoyed) Don’t hang it on the rack then..

Me: Would you still like to purchase the piece of clothing sir?

Customer: Yeh..

I totaled it up. He left the story

I go and help other customers at the register and he walks up again.

Customer: Clothing with a white tag were 1+1 free right?

Me: Yes sir indeed! :D

Customer: So I can grab this one and I can leave right?

Me: No. You already paid for the clothing items you have to buy 2 again

Then he threw it on the ground and walked out swearing at me
