The counter at our craft store often gets covered in sticky residue from leaky products, which look soiled but can also catch on fabric items we sell. We have to sometimes use strong cleaning products to clean it off, often methylated spirits will do the job, just doesn’t smell great. I have no customers so I decide to clean some stubborn marks off. As I am cleaning I notice a woman in the department behind me, I see that she’s watching me clean from a distance and can see the metho I am using. She enters my department and comes straight up to the counter I am cleaning.

Me “May I help you?”

Woman *takes deep breath in “If that affects my asthma, I’m going to sue”. *walks off

I stare after her with disbelief wondering why someone who knew they had asthma would purposely go close to someone using products that may potentially harm her.
