(This story was related to me by my girlfriend, Eleanor, who works on a customer service phone line for a medical company. She sometimes gets…interesting calls.)

Eleanor: Thank you for calling, my name is Eleanor, how can I help you?
Caller: *loud TV in background* I’m calling this number, but I’m getting nowhere. Jean? Where are we calling? Where are we calling? Jean?
Eleanor: *keeps quiet, thinking the caller is talking to someone else on their end*
Caller: HELLO?! Where are we calling? Hello??
Eleanor: …me? This is Eleanor with [company]?
Caller: *hangs up*
