Unfiltered Story #221189

First time uploading to this site, been a huge fan of reading stories here and the sister sites. Which I suppose I finally have the honor to share a story here, here is my story:

I been working for 4 years at [Insert Restaurant Here]. For the most point it has been surprisingly great, for working at a fast food place; fellow employees have been great to work with (made a lot of friends here) and for the most point, customers are very friendly even during our busy times.

We do have quite a few regulars, some coming in almost every day at the same time, ordering the same thing (or close to it). Some can be rather nit picky about things, which when it comes to things like allergies…its understandable and we do our best to make sure not to cause a allergic reaction. However there has been at least one customer, we will call John who comes in with his wife who orders the same thing each time…and we rarely have a issue with him but today was a different story.

I was working in the dinning area, it was a pretty normal evening shift at first until a hour in. At this point we were hit by a sudden rush. Of course we had a feeling something like this was going to happen since it was in the high 80s to low 90s at this time and ice cream is one of the popular things that we sell during the summer.

It was probably hour 2 into the rush, and I was running around checking tables and running orders trying to keep guest happy. John and his wife had order their usual (two kids meals) and he told me that the order was wrong…that part went perfectly fine (just got him a new sandwhich), it was when he got the custard that was a issue (normally with kids meals you get a free one scoop of custard [premium ice cream] with ONE topping, anything else would be extra). John got two custards with hot fudge and cashews on one and the other he wanted to get hot fudge on the side. The thing is, he always ask for generous amounts of toppings, which corporate policy says we can only give a certain amount with the free topping. So here is where the fun begins:

I was making my rounds around the dinning area, checking on customers when I come to John’s table

Me: Is everything ok?

John: No exactly, I asked for generous amounts of hot fudge with my custard and you only gave us a small cup. Is there any chance we could get like 3 more cups of the hot fudge?”

Me: I will see if I can

((I head back to the front, checking with a manager if we could…she says no so I head back and inform him. At this point he explodes, storming up to the cashregisters))

John: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T GIVE ME EXTRA FUDGE?!

Manager: I’m sorry, but you can only get one free topping with the kids…

John: I’M A REGULAR AND THIS IS HOW YOU ARE GOING TO TREAT ME?

Manager: Look I’m sorry but this is a corporate decision…

John: CORPORATE?! YOU ARE NOT A CORPORATE MC DONALDS MANAGER…YOU ARE A HORRIBLE MANAGER AND THE CUSTARD CREW IS TERRIBLE TOO!

((At this point he just storms off and finishes his custard and leaves…what is weird is I never seen him like this before this day…he seems like a nice guy, just with odd orders. He even told me I am a great employee before this all happened…hope this is my only story, but thanks for reading it and cheers to you all))
