(I’m at a car shop with my mom getting our car inspected. As we’re waiting, I hear this conversation take place between an older man and a cashier.)

Man: I left my license with someone. I don’t like leaving my license because it has my social security number on it.

Cashier: We just need your license to put your information in our system.

Man: In the two years I’ve been here, I have never had to leave my license with someone.

Cashier: That’s just how our policy is, sir.

(The cashier goes on to explain how their policy works and he keeps arguing against it. Eventually, another cashier comes in and hears the dialogue being exchanged.)

Cashier #2: Sir, your license does not have your social security number on it.

Man: Oh. Never mind, then.
