(As I approached the bakery counter, with my 2yo son I hear the two workers there laughing and telling each other quotes from the movie “Mean Girls”. Worker 1 says a quote and Worker 2 looks blank.)
Worker 1: What!!?? How do you not know EVERY QUOTE EVER from Mean Girls? It’s, like, the best movie ever! (Laughs some more at her colleague, then turns to me to take my order)
Me: Can I please have a sliced wholemeal loaf? Thanks. Oh, actually, can I also have a small iced Fun Bun for my son, here? Cos I’m not like a regular mom – I’m a cool mom (famous quote from Mean Girls).
Worker 1: (stares at blankly…)
