Unfiltered Story #217641
I was sitting idle at one of our two circulation desks when a patron came up to my colleague at the other counter, who was busy with another patron.
Patron: You there, just sitting on your ass! The computers aren’t working! There’s a virus!
Colleague: Well, I can surely help you, but I’ll have to get done with this other customer first. *gestures towards me*
Me: I can help you!
Patron(Still talking to my colleague): The computers aren’t working. You can’t just sit here on your ass. You need to make sure the computers are working!
Colleague: Allright, but there’s someone before you in line here. I have to help them first.
Patron: The computers not working!
Me: Which computer is it?
Patron: The second one over there!
Me: Give me a minute, I’ll see if I can fix it!
I walk over to see what’s wrong. I’m the one who’s set these computers up, so I’m more than capable to fix most of the issues that occur. I turn the computer on, wait for it to boot, check to see if everything is in order, which it was.
Someone had just turned it off.
