I work in a winery doing tastings. Note: we pour whites first as a general rule (most wineries do). This customer has come in with a bigger party of about 9 ladies. I pour the very first white and explain what it is, etc.

Customer: *directly look at light coloured wine in glass* *looks up at me* Is this red or white? (She was completely serious–you could see it on her face).

Cue realization and everyone burst out laughing (including her).
