Unfiltered Story #216010

, , | Unfiltered | November 19, 2020

I took my daughter to a toy store for her birthday, as they had a promotion for children during their birth month. We were able to get two of the items listed on the website for the promo, but none of the employees offered anything else. Not even to sing Happy Birthday. When I started to ask about the rest during checkout, it became evident that the store didn’t have any – either they were out or the prop got broken. My daughter didn’t know the full scope so she wasn’t bothered. I was a little annoyed, but it wasn’t worth fussing over.

The guy at the register (who may have been the manager) quietly gave us a discount and then he got us a free (small) gift card for later use. These more than made up for the lack of items on the birthday promo. I appreciated the gesture, and I’m sure he appreciated a customer that didn’t yell at him about it.
