(One Saturday before Christmas, our store is packed as usual. When I’m walking around the store, I see my pastor doing his grocery shopping. I say a quick hello and move on. A little bit later, I see him going through the checkout lane. The cashier is a sweet Muslim girl. That evening, after the rush has died down, I manage to talk to the cashier.)
Me: So I saw my pastor go through your line today.
Cashier: Really? Which one was he?
Me: Balding, glasses, green sweatshirt…
Cashier: I remember him! He was literally the only nice person in my line today.
Me: Really?
Cashier: Yeah. Everyone else was grumpy and impatient because of the lines, but what do you expect right before Christmas? But your pastor was really nice.
