Unfiltered Story #215141

I am a broke college student with a small gift card to a chain restaurant. I go there with my friends, and pull out my gift card and place it on the table, so I don’t forget it. The end of the meal comes, and I realize the gift card is missing. Thinking it must have stuck to one of the menus, I go to the front, and several waiters help me flip through many menus. We do this for a couple minutes, and I finally tell them that it’s okay, it’s my own fault and I don’t want them to get in trouble for helping me instead of working.
In reality, I have no idea how I am going to pay for this without that gift card, but I say nothing. One of the managers comes over and asks what is going on, and I just say that I am an idiot and lost my gift card. I go to walk away and she pulls another one out of a stack and tells me to use it, on her. I thanked her profusely. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but a little kindness goes a long way, so thank you.
