(When we were seven or eight, my cousin and I were playing on the dock near our grandparents’ cabin, when suddenly an empty boat floated by. We waded out to grab it. A few minutes later, a man sitting on a surfboard appears)

Me: Hey! Is this your boat?

Guy: *very nonchalantly* It is. Thanks for getting it for me. Would you like a ride?

(After asking our grandparents’ permission, we got to go for a ride. I still have no idea how or why he got separated from his boat, or why he was so weirdly calm about it!)
