I am meeting a friend for the first time in a while. I teach Japanese for a living, while he works customer support.
Friend: And then *string of expletives*!
Me: [Friend], could you please not use that language? You know I really disapprove of it.
Friend: I can’t not use that language! I work customer support eight hours a day, and I have to bottle it up all that time! You’d curse too if you had to deal with customers all day!
Me: I deal with students.
Friend: …Touche.
He didn’t use another curse word till the end of the day.
