Unfiltered Story #211669
There was a little boy once when I was a waiter at Pizza Hut that came in with a stack of dinosaur books.
I asked him if he liked dinosaurs, he beamed up at me and nodded enthusiastically.
The woman he was with, who seemed to be in her twenties, with a condescending tone says, “Why don’t you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up?”
I looked back at the boy who was now looking down, and seemed quite dejected.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
“A… Paleontologist… ” he slowly let out.
The woman started to laugh loudly and mockingly, “So stupid!” she exclaimed.
I was so shocked at her behavior that I wanted to slap her – I said “Don’t laugh at him!”
I then said to him, “Don’t listen to her, you can be whatever you put your mind to!”
The rest of their visit, I could barely stand talking to the woman, and the boy would not look at me. I was depressed for the rest of the day.
