Unfiltered Story #211619

I am a 61 year old female. The man ahead of me in line is younger, but still appears to be within a few years of my age. The overhead music is playing Deneice Williams’ “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” (And yes, I talk to random people.)

Me: What were you doing when that song was popular?”

Man: Huh?

Me: That song came out in 1984, what were you doing back then?

Man: (Suddenly smiling) Trade shows. (pause) In Vegas . (pause) I was there six months. (pause) Those were some wild times.

After that, he didn’t say anything, but he kept smiling, apparently at the memory of being young and being in Vegas.

It made me glad I asked.
