Unfiltered Story #210627

I work in a library. This weekend we are having a huge book sale, which always draws a lot of people. We don’t have the best parking in the world. There is a big lot next door but it’s privately owned and they’re known to tow people if they try to park there. I answer the phone.

Me: Circulation desk, how may I help you?

Woman: Yes, I’ve been circling around the library for an hour looking for a parking spot and I just wanted to know if they opened up the private parking lot for the sale?

Me: No, I’m sorry, they get angry if you do that and your car might get towed, but —

I am about to tell her about some additional parking by the bank, but she interrupts me.

Woman: Well then, you can keep your sale!

She then hangs up on me. Listen lady, there’s no need to be rude to someone doing their job, and we had hundreds of people come to the sale, so we didn’t need you.
