I’m working as a fitting room attendant when a customer comes up to me with a pair of pants.
Customer: This is an 8-10. Do you have this available in a 10-12?
Me: No, I’m sorry. It’s only available in an 8-10 or a 12-14.
Customer: Why not?!
The first answer that comes to my mind is “because that would be stupid,” but I figure that probably is t the best response.
Me: Well…..
Trying to think of a way to explain it.
Me: Because an 8-10 is a medium and a 12-14 is a large, so a 10-12 would be a medium and a half.
Customer: Well, I’m an engineer, and I guess that’s just how my brain works.
