Unfiltered Story #210489

I work at a company that specializes in the sale of pumps and related industrial equipment. A customer comes in one day looking for a very common type of hose, but in an uncommonly large diameter. Since we did not have it in stock, I ordered it so she could come pick it up when it arrives a couple days later.

When the customer returns, I meet her at the counter.

Me: “Good day!”

Customer: *enthusiastically* “I’m here for the huge eight inch hose!”

Me: “Certainly, I’ve got it put aside for you. Just a moment, please.”

Externally, I was calm and professional. Internally, I couldn’t help but laugh at her phrasing.
