I am a manager of a clothing store. A customer is causing quite a fuss because an employee apparently referred to her using a well known racial slur starting with “N”. After dealing with the customer and offering to pay for her entire purchase, I head into the back to deal with the employee.
Me: Ok, so what exactly happened, because I can’t imagine you of all people would use that word?
Employee: *huffs* She asked me where my family was from. I said my dad’s side is from Bristol, and my mum’s side is from Abuja. She didn’t know where that was, so I told her: Nigeria. I guess she misheard.
