I was working at the returns desk at a popular hardware store. To preface, I am Pagan and I where a pentacle pendant that my aunt gave me and blessed. A man comes up to the desk to do a return.
Me: Hello, what can I do for you?
Customer: I just need to make a few returns.
Me: Alrightie.
(I ask for his receipt and begin the return. I notice he had on a couple intricate rings, so to make small talk during the transaction, I comment.)
Me: Those are very gorgeous rings.
Customer: Thank you. (Pauses) What’s your necklace?
Me: Oh, it’s a pentacle.
(I leave it at that, not feeling it necessary to add any more. He continues to stare at it. I finish his transaction.)
Me: And he’s your receipt. Thank you and have a nice day.
Customer: Oh, I remember what that it. God bless you. (Hurries out door).
Me: *Sighs*
