(There is no precursor to this interaction. I’m sitting at my desk in reception and a customer walks up to me and starts talking.)

Customer: When will my new debit card be in the mail?

(I’m thrown. I’ve seen this customer a few times but I don’t even know so much as her name, let alone anything to do with her accounts.)

Me: Uh, do you know when it was ordered?

Customer: Last Thursday and they said 7 business days.

Me: Probably 7 business from last Thursday then.

Customer: Oh, okay.
