Unfiltered Story #205705

, , | Unfiltered | August 19, 2020

I’m in my early 20s. The front desk dialed maintenance and handed me the phone. Conversation is in Chinese but I switch to English when stuck. Mid conversation,

Receptionist: Hey! Come back.

Suddenly the phone was pulled out of my hand.

Me: A cord! I’m so sorry. I’m not used to old phones!

We laugh and I make sure I don’t walk around again. After a bit I realise I actually said antique rather than just old. I didn’t tell her that. I’m not sure if she thinks I actually think corded phones are antiques or knows I meant old and just misworded in Chinese or was exaggerating.
